Twenty educators from 14 Florida counties gathered at the Harn Museum July 15, 16, 17 for professional development at the 2007 Summer Teacher Institute utilizing artworks from the Harn's permanent collection to create curriculum for their respective Kdg-12 grade classrooms. Participants at this Institute, "Creativity in Idea and Image", had the opportunity to work with UF Professor Bethany Taylor to create their own inflatable art inspired by contemporary artists who focus on non-permanent -- 'ephemeral' --installations or media. One participant summed up her experience, saying "The workshop left me inspired to create--and rejuvenated. Now I can't wait to get back to school and share what I've learned with my students".
