As Ghandi said, “We must become the change we want to see.” FAEA membership can anchor our commitment to our students and to the world of education; we are unified in this journey. And we invite you to join FAEA, so that we can work with others toward common goals. Our structure includes an elected Board of Directors, a Districts Assembly that reaches all parts of our state, and divisions of job-alike categories. Members are teachers, art supervisors, arts administrators, museum professionals, university professors and students, and those who are retired from the profession, yet still passionate about our goals.

Advocacy provided for members to have a voice regarding arts education in the state of Florida.
Annual Conference includes outstanding workshops, guest speakers, timely research findings, advocacy information, social events, commercial exhibits, and the opportunity to continue friendships, gain up-to-date information, and to go home with strategies you can use immediately in your workplace. Conference materials are sent in August to individual members as well as schools, universities, and museums.
Opportunities to make presentations and conduct workshops during the annual FAEA conference.
Publications, such as Fresh Paint, FAEA’s quarterly magazine, which shares division reports, activities, and honors of members, curriculum ideas, informative advertising, and more. Submissions of artwork and articles are encouraged. Wet Paint is a flyer published occasionally and its focus is on a single timely topic.
FAEA Web site offers current information and activities about art education in the state of Florida.
Awards Program that recognizes excellence in the work of art educators. Awardees are recognized in Fresh Paint, the Conference program, and other appropriate listings.
Exhibition of student art works, as well as an annual Members’ Juried Exhibition during Conference.
Leadership training and opportunities through Districts Assembly, elections for the Board of Directors, and through appointed positions. Leadership training is available at scheduled times.
Professional Development training for art educators in a variety of locations.

Q When does my FAEA membership begin?
A As soon as the FAEA processes your payment you are eligible for all FAEA benefits. All memberships are active from October 1st to September 30th the next year.

Q When can I expect to receive my first issue of Fresh Paint, the FAEA Newsletter?
A Because Fresh Paint is published quarterly, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery after sending your payment.

Q How many issues of Fresh Paint will I receive with a one-year membership?
A You will be mailed four issues per year.

Q When does my FAEA membership expire?
A September 30th of each calendar year.

Q What should I do if I move while my FAEA membership is still active so that I can continue to receive FAEA mailings?
A Register your change of address with your local post office and mail your change of address information to:

Q How do I get information about the Annual FAEA Fall Conference?
A You will receive a special Conference Packet in the mail during the summer each year that contains all the information highlighting the activities of the conference and a pre-registration form. It is recommended you pre-register early. Also, you can find conference information on this website under Conferences. New in 2004 - you will be able to register for the conference on-line. More information about this exciting new development will be coming soon.

Q How many issues of Wet Paint will I receive?
A Wet Paint is published four times per year.

Q When I join FAEA, am I also a member of the National Art Education Association?
A The Florida Art Education (FAEA) is an affiliate member of NAEA. Yet, you will have to join NAEA through a separate membership to the NAEA Headquarters in Reston, VA.

Q Does FAEA sell or rent its member list?
A No.
