One way to supplement the material needed to teach the curriculum is through grants. Half the battle is locating a grant that applies to your field. The other half is finding the time to complete the application process for the grant. As this school year comes to a close, consider using this summer to explore available grant opportunities. This site offers a list of grant opportunities.
NEA Fine Arts Grant Program
On behalf of the National Education Association (NEA), The NEA Foundation
for the Improvement of Education (NFIE) offers, for the second year in a row,
Fine Arts grants to NEA members. Available to secondary (grades 6-12)
school art specialists through local NEA affiliates, the grants allow fine arts
educators to create and implement programs that promote learning among
students at risk of school failure.
Through store grants and team member volunteering, Target helps local schools and arts organizations make the arts more accessible to all.

The Milagro Foundation focuses on serving at-risk, underrepresented and
disadvantaged youth through educational programs and health services. The
Foundation also supports artistic and culturally enriching programs that strengthen
youth and communities. Most grant amounts are between $2,500 and $5,000. Creative programs from grass roots organizations working with and for underrepresented and underprivileged children and youth take precedence. Application deadline: on-going.
